Really Love this Omega

I Like This Omega 212 30 41 61 01 001 Seamaster Black Watch

Omega 212 30 41 61 01 001 Seamaster Black Watch

Finally bought this watch from Omega AD after months of research and comparison. In the shop I had to make a hard decision between the 300M, Planet Ocean with transparent caseback, and Breitling Superocean.

Planet Ocean is thick! you can't really see the thickness from the pictures until you see the actual PO and try it on your wrist. PO is more suited for casual wear (jeans would be excellent), for office wear, PO will not fit under your shirt cuff. The 300M is more versatile across office and casual wear, and I found it better suited for my wrist. The PO covered my entire wrist, too overwhelming. I prefer the bracelet of 300M to the PO bracelet too. The PO bracelet has more of glossy chain parts, hence scratches will be more apparent on the PO.

Breitling is about the same size as PO, but its bracelet has sharper edges whereas the Omegas have more rounded edges. I found the numbers (6,9) on the Breitling a bit too large and not in harmony with the overall look of the watch. Price wise, Breitling is about the same price as 300M, and is a winner if compared with PO. It was very tempting to get the Breitling as it's so much cheaper than PO for about the same watch size. But I decided to get the 300M as it suits me better.

I recently purchased OMEGA James bond collection, Black Dial- Quartz from DUBAI. I can vouch for OMEGA'S built quality and moderate pricing, i.e. if one is comparing with Rolex Submariner. I am not a watch connoisseur myself, but certainly have an eye of attractive and quality watches, with an omega you can carry off with jeans, cargoes, swimming trunks, shorts, suits and what not.... There is no dearth of shopping malls in UAE and I always kept trying various watches to get the feel of them, before zeroing down to Omega. I am not here to take anything away from Rolex, but would like to add that Rolex being a strong brand, has overpriced their products. Rolex buyers certainly need deep pockets and reckon end up paying for brand Rolex rather then watch. Anyways these are my opinions. Omega's built quality of bracelet and watch case screams class, bracelet without being dull nor flashy is evenly poised for casual and formal wear. I personally prefer the Black Dial to the blue, BLACK CONTRAST stands out "PERIOD". Blue is always great but inclines more towards the casual look. Off course James Bond wore the blue, COZ he never had the black :) My father insisted that I pick up automatic instead of the quartz. Cost difference was one of the driving factor for me to pick up the quartz, also I am not into adjusting time regularly when the watch stops. I also feel It is a old school of thought and watch makers capitalize on sentiments that automatic watches are piece of art, yes they may be, but can the automatic guarantee precision timekeeping like their quartz counterparts, from what I have heard and read probably not. Plus why would I want to invest on mechanical watches, which can have unforeseen liabilities, especially considering the fact there are countless parts which keep the watch ticking. To conclude if you have something for watches and intend to spend moderate sum of money, then OMEGA is for you. One more word of advice, please ask the seller to bring the watch hands to 11.57 , i.e. few minutes away from when it strikes 12.00 and observe till the watch strikes 12.00 to see that the two hands are in line with the 12 .00 hr sign. i.e. exactly plum with the 12 hr sign. The reason is few watches might have unit specific errors (note: not referring to omega alone) and it is always better to check before you strike the deal.(Rolex and Automatic watch lovers no heart feelings pls) Each watch has a character of its own. Best of luck....

This is a great timepiece. Elegant, accurate, sturdy and suitable for all occasions. Although the blue version is the most usual in this model, I decided to buy the black one. I think it is more versatile and elegant. I also preferred the quartz version, since I believe it is much more convenient, not to mention that it is about $1,000 cheaper.

I did not buy it from Amazon. I got a better price at an authorized dealer in Washington DC. Apart from keeping the mafufacturer's international warranty, the dealer offers one year of additional warranty and free batteries during the entire life of my watch.

I chose the black dial to be a little more original, because everyone that owns these Seamasters seem to own the blue ones and the black is more classy. I have owned several Seamasters, because of the overall quality and keep coming back to the quartz model.
This watch isn't as flashy as a Rolex, but who cares- Instead I will just wear a shirt that sais I'm better than YOU! Ha Ha. All Omega time pieces are just as good as a Rolex if not better in accuracy, but that's another story.
I have a job that requires precision in time keeping and the quartz are razor sharp in accuracy, but any automatic Omega's I have owned require adjusting every week or so (to be accurate) and you don't want to wear them when you are doing any hard or quick physical activity, because one sudden shock could damage the internal mechanism and who wants to pay 350 to 500 for a tune up every five years or so-Not Me! And Seamaster quartz models only require 50 to 85.00 every 3 to 4 years. Don't get me wrong Automatics are endlessly cool and demand respect, but are overrated. You cant go wrong with this quartz Seamaster!

I own this watch for almost few months now. All I can say is this is a wonderful timepiece. The craftsmanship on this watch is excellent. You can dress up or dress down. Initially I was going to buy it from Amazon but I got 30% off from local AD so later on I decided to buy it from there. I decided to buy a quartz version because I did not feel like paying extra $1,000 for same watch. Overall very satisfied with the watch and highly recommended.

I love this watch! I bought this as a "congrats" to myself after a promotion and I do not have buyers remorse like most of my other purchases (I am frugal). The weight is substantial, the design is sexy for a sports watch (good use of brushed and polished steel), and it keeps impeccable time. The bracelet is comfortable and has half-links, making it easy to find the perfect size. I have not received attention or compliments on my watch, which I view as a good thing because it has subtle elegance and isn't as "look at me" as a Rolex Submariner. I ended up choosing the quartz version due to the lower cost of maintenance (I read that it is recommended to service the automatic version every 4 years at $400 a pop). I wish this watch came with the option of a ceramic bezel, but overall this watch is everything that I wanted it to be.

I have owned 2 Bond quartz watches for several years. Never any problems. One nice feature is the ability to move the hour hand one hour at a time (for daylight savings or time zone changes) without stopping the watch so the correct time is not lost. It also has a hack feature so you can set the seconds hand easily. A watch to hand down to your kids. Unless you have the tools you may want to take the band to a dealer to adjust length.

Owned a Rado before for years...I am quite pleased with the Omega Seamaster. It is an attractive, young-looking watch that is well-made, accurate and dependable. Its popularity is well-earned. Overall this watch is a good buy. I rate it a solid 9 out of a possible 10.

I love this watch every day I use it , ia a great piece for your collection. The details are excellent the black dial with the waves background looks gorgeous! I took the quartz mechanism because it was on sale but when I research about the 1538 movement I was very happy with my choice.

This watch is very elegant and fits excellent on every situation. I was pleasantly surprised with the luminous details; they glows blue and last for long time. Great watch piece for your wrist , highly recommended.
